WHAT WE DO
We design blends of marine microalgae to create superior performing aquaculture feeds for tilapia, the second most farmed fish globally. Our microalgae-based feeds are completely fish-free.
WHY WE DO IT
Humans are depleting marine fish stocks faster and further than ever. Fishmeal (protein) and fish oil (omega-3 fatty acids) are two conventional aquaculture feed ingredients whose extraction from 20% of marine capture fisheries drives overfishing, harms marine biodiversity, and undermines food security in coastal communities. Verdant Seas decouples wild fish capture from farmed fish production while boosting fishes' growth rates and nutritional profiles.
